You may have noticed when a person smiles, their whole face seems to change. In fact, when we smile, up to 43 facial muscles are activated. These muscle contractions cause the skin above them to become crinkled and folded. These are often called ‘expression lines’ or ‘laugh lines’.

The injection works by blocking neurotransmitters in the muscles, and reducing the strength of muscular contractions. The application aesthetically allows for a relaxing of facial muscles, and smoothing of the overlying skin.
