Here at CLDC, we can create a more natural looking smile using advanced in modern-day dental materials and techniques.

Continuous research and development is taking place, finding better and longer last natural looking materials. Dentists are able to provide patients with several solutions from a range of high-quality materials that are used to repair missing, damaged, worn or decayed teeth.

Tooth Coloured Fillings

Materials used for filling teeth must have certain characteristics- the force of chewing is just one of the situations this material will face in its new life inside your mouth. Obviously some teeth have to withstand more pressure than others, therefore the material used for restoration will also be dependent on the position of the tooth in the mouth.

At CLDC, one of the filling materials of choice is composite resin. This material is a mixture of resin and finely ground glasslike particles that produce a tooth coloured filling. This provides excellent durability and resistance to fracture and will withstand most levels of chewing pressure in small to medium size restorations.

Inlays and Onlays

Inlays are fillings that were traditionally made of gold, but are now often made of porcelain, ceramic or composite material. They are used to repair moderately damaged back teeth, and need to be extremely strong to withstand the grinding pressure of these teeth. Inlays are cemented into place and are contained within the cusp tips of the tooth. Special cement is used to increase the strength of the bond between the inlay and the existing tooth.

Made of the same materials as inlays, an onlay is a more extensive restoration that covers the tooth cusps. An onlay increases the strength of the tooth.
