Why does my bite feel different after dental treatment?

It’s quite common for your bite to feel different after dental treatment. This can happen because even a very small change ( as little as few microns) in the height or shape of a filling or crown can alter how your teeth come together. Your teeth and jaw are very sensitive to these changes.
In many cases, the feeling settles within a few days as your mouth adapts. However, if a restoration is slightly too high, the tooth may take more pressure than it should, which can cause discomfort, sensitivity to pressure/ when biting and even temperature sensitivity.
If your bite still feels “off,” uncomfortable, or the tooth feels sore or sensitive after a few days, it’s important to have it checked, as a simple adjustment can usually resolve the issue.
