No, as most cosmetic dental procedures are minimally invasive, you will feel little or no pain. We use local anaesthesia to numb the area to ensure your patient comfort.You may, however experience mild soreness following the procedure however, this is usually remedied with over-the counter pain relief.
Teeth whitening is typically not painful, though some people may experience temporary tooth sensitivity after the procedure. This sensitivity usually fades within a few hours. Over-the-counter whitening products can sometimes cause more sensitivity than professional treatments, as they are not monitored by a dentist. We use the LaserBrite (Luma Light) which is used on all cruise ships for teeth whitening and this system is the least sensitive for patients.

These are a series of clear, removable and virtually invisible aligners that systematically shift your teeth into their desired position. Clear aligners offer a comfortable and convenient alternative to traditional braces.

Composite Veneers or Bonding as some know it, can transform your smile quickly and safely using the latest in natural looking composite resin material. This needs to be done by a dentist with a keen eye for colour and shape as not to many dentists are artistic.
Porcelain Veneers are also a great way to cover discoloured teeth. Our stunning dental porcelain veneers are designed by Dr Yvonne King and crafted by our master ceramist. This can be a two-week procedure from preparation of your teeth to placement.
The longevity of your brighter smile after teeth whitening depends on consistent maintenance. Using the special gel provided after your in-office whitening session just once a week helps to maintain the results. Regular hygiene appointments are also crucial for polishing and maintaining the brightness of your teeth.
Veneers, whether composite or porcelain, offer a long-term solution for enhancing your smile. Their lifespan is significantly extended with proper care and regular hygiene appointments. In fact, many of our patients have enjoyed their original veneers for over 20 years.
Always make sure that the procedure is Minimally Invasive. Some Dentists cut away too much tooth structure which does effect the longevity of your teeth – look up SHARK TEETH.
Minimally invasive techniques in Cosmetic Dental procedures generally pose little risk. Australia does not recognise Cosmetic Dentistry as a formal specialty. Many dentists complete only a few hours of training before gaining experience directly on patients — often by preparing (cutting down) teeth and relying on a ceramist to design the smile.
The closest equivalent to a specialist in this field would be a Qualified Aesthetic Dentist. These are dentists who have completed a Master’s Degree in Cosmetic or Aesthetic Dentistry — a two-year postgraduate program offered exclusively by King’s College London, the only university in the world to provide this qualification.

Porcelain veneers and bonding offer similar solutions with crucial differences making one more popular than the other.
Porcelain veneers offer a more permanent solution lasting 10-25 years and are tailor-made in a dental laboratory by a highly skilled ceramist.
On the other hand, dental bonding is carried out by placing composite resin in the mouth and giving it shape. These are reversible and last anywhere between 5 and 10 years. The results are very much determined by the artistic ability of the dentist. Qualified Aesthetic Dentists are trained in the art of shape, colour, proportions etc.
Unlike Porcelain veneers, dental bonding is replaced more often and sees more instances of discolouration if cheep materials are used.
